2017 Transformations

What a year it has been for our family.  Giancarlo and I spent some time last night reflecting on the opportunities and lessons that 2017 brought ourselves and our family.  We relished in the simple joys of our youngest daughter sleeping consistently through the night and how our oldest child loves her school.  We discussed the importance of supporting each other's individual paths and how to find ways to deepen our connection.  2017 was a foundational year for our young family.  Rhthyms were created, a community was established, and individual purpose on this planet was more clearly defined.

All month I have been reflecting on life as California's largest wildfire in history ravaged through our small town and surrounding areas.  When we evacuated on Dec. 4 it felt like she was taking no prisoners her movement was swift and vast.  The fire's intensity grew each day as the winds became stronger and stronger. The experience was intense and at the same time, it was really beautiful.  I witnessed our small community, although dispersed coming together in prayer and lending a hand to all those in need.   And I am still relishing in people's personal journeys during this time.  Baby's being born and hours later new families evacuating to safer spaces, firefighters and ground crews working around the clock to save our homes, people coming together supporting each other locally and from afar, a young family's sanctuary being burnt to the ground but within the ash they found the nativity scene unscathed, and learning that from the ash, and only ash the most beautiful flower will bloom this Spring.

I was reminded that fire will burn and take with it all that needs to evolve and to change.  Wildfires although destructive to our human infrastructures are necessary for our ecosystems.  They take the vegetation down to nothing so that it can grow and flourish again.  This year I am committed to having the courage of letting my inner fire burn deeply.   To transform into greater versions of myself so that I can be of more service to my family, my community and myself.

WIshing you and yours a transformative New Year.  May 2018 be filled with inner growth, self-love, prosperity, and peace.

Love,
Jennifer
